 Mission Statement
The RI Professional Development Center (PDCenter) delivers high-quality, research-based professional development and technical assistance to Rhode Island's adult education programs and practitioners.  Through its leadership and partnerships, the PDCenter seeks to support, enhance and promote the network of quality educational opportunities for RI's adult learners.

 Vision Statement
RI Adult Education Practitioners will have the resources and support that they need to most effectively serve the adult learners in the state.

The primary funders of the PDCenter are Rhode Island Foundation, the United Way of Rhode Island, and the Rhode Island Department of Education (WIA Title II Leadership funds, and Job Development Funds from the Governor's Workforce Board).

The PDCenter was established after a workgroup of practitioners, facilitated by Dr. Cassie Bryant, developed a System Model of Professional Development for Rhode Island adult education. This workgroup was one of many, facilitated by Judith Titzel, which contributed to the Building the Critical Links report of the Governor’s Adult Literacy Taskforce.
